PINK OYSTER COUNTERTOP KIT INSTRUCTIONS
1. Find an area with indirect sunlight and indirect airflow to set up.
2. Place the grow block in the green tray with the folded side down. Do not remove the block from the bag.
3. Use a sharp, clean knife to cut a 1 1/2 inch long “X” in the center of the bag. Let the blade sink about 1/4 inches into the grow block.
4. Gently lift the flaps created by the “X” and spray underneath 1x-2x on each side. Mist the inside of the humidity dome so that it is completely covered in condensation.
5. Continue to mist the inside of the humidity dome 2-3 times daily.
6. Your mushrooms should begin growing (pinning) within 7-14 days. Once your mushrooms begin to grow, remove the humidity dome for the remainder of your growing. If it is especially dry in your home, you can avoid shocking the mushrooms by removing the dome during the day, and leaving it on at night for 1-2 days. This will ease the transition to the drier air.
7. Mist your growing mushrooms directly 2-3x daily.
8. Your Mushrooms are ready once the caps begin to flatten. Gently twist from the mushroom’s base to harvest.
9. Store your Pink Oysters in a brown bag for up to 7 days in the refrigerator. Always wash and cook your mushrooms before consumption.
10. Oftentimes you can successfully grow a second (and third!) harvest by flipping the bag over and restarting the process from the opposite side. Once your block is no longer producing, check out our blog post for ways to give your used block a new life.
